About Thief

It all started as a sticker and turned into a cult following…

Before Thief had a name, it was a sticker.  A sticker that took over a tiny valley in Southern Vermont.

Thom originally had some made for just him and his friends, but after after a ton of people asked about it, he decided to get 500 of them made.  He and his friends started leaving bunches of the stickers on tables, in bars and restaurants, and handing them out to anyone that wanted them.  Needless to say, they wound up EVERYWHERE (you can still find those originals, without a name, stuck randomly around that valley).  After seeing the response it was decided, it was time to take it further and there had to be shirts.  Thom being an illustrator and Graphic Designer had tons of ideas... but the whole thing still needed a name.  Thus Thief Industries was born by a group of friends bound together by a passion, that passion was snowboarding, snowboarding and a idea for a sticker of a mask.

The grit and edge of Thom’s designs and illustrations are a direct result of the skate, punk and NYHC scene he grew up in on the East Coast.  His love of old skate, surf and snowboard graphics still influence his designs to this day.  Over the years Thom has amassed a decorative dirge of pinstripe panels, painted objects and general illustrative clutter, leaving an intricate mess of hand drawn bits n' bobs scattered in his wake.  All of which can be seen on his @dbl.dwn.dsn IG account.  He pulls inspiration from just about anywhere.  Including but not limited to the graffiti, comic books, snowboarding, skate and the surf paraphernalia that he has surrounded himself with ever since he was old enough to know better.

Even now the source of inspiration is constantly changing and driving his designs in all directions as Thief Industries has grown into a lifestyle brand.  Any excuse to be outdoors, try something different, find a new passion, Thom is right there going for it.  This next phase of life is not only driving him, but his company forward.  Some of the OG designs are coming out of the vault for all of you decade long loyals, and the new stuff fits right in and will be sure to grab your attention too!
